According to Craig Hutson, an expert analyst working with Gimme Credit, “Toyota is essentially betting that the vehicles will have superior resale value when they are returned after their leases end. If their value is less than expected, it could cost the finance arm of the Japanese automaker hundreds of millions of dollars”

Another important point to mention is that Toyota is now giving credit to customer representing credit risks. It is understood that the Toyota Lease Program is only requering a credit score of 660 to qualify.
